Chantilly : cap sur le patrimoine v\u00e9g\u00e9tal d’avenir .Celui des esp\u00e8ces robustes qui s’adapteront au changement climatique. Au menu de la 14\u00e8me \u00e9dition des journ\u00e9es des plantes 180 exposants et 10 000 esp\u00e8ces sur 8 ha. Le jury compos\u00e9 notamment du prince Aga Khan et de la pr\u00e9sentatrice Julie Andrieu a distingu\u00e9 le ch\u00eane roi du domaine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mangez-vous des glands ? \u00ab\u00a0Les Am\u00e9rindiens en consommaient beaucoup. Majoritairement sous forme de farine ou de fruit\u00a0\u00bb rappelle Jean-Baptiste Bellini, p\u00e9pini\u00e9riste aux Ch\u00eanes du Caux. Le ch\u00eane est justement l’une des vedettes de la 14\u00e8me \u00e9dition des journ\u00e9es des plantes du domaine de Chantilly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le ch\u00eane : arbre roi de Chantilly et v\u00e9g\u00e9tal d’avenir<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On connait le n\u00f4tre dont les glands sont d’ailleurs incomestibles car bourr\u00e9s de tanins. Mais il existe des centaines d’esp\u00e8ces. Entre 400 et 600 dans le monde. En Am\u00e9rique du Nord, du sud du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Philadelphie notamment. Mais aussi au Mexique. \u00ab\u00a0Les zones o\u00f9 les narco-trafiquants prosp\u00e8rent sont des lieux o\u00f9 les arbres vivent en paix\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e9cise ironiquement Jean-Baptiste Bellini. Pas question en effet de venir d\u00e9fricher chez les barons de la drogue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des programmes de recherches se multiplient sur les esp\u00e8ces de l’Est am\u00e9ricain car leurs fruits volumineux pourraient ouvrir une voie alimentaire. Des glands \u00e0 la place du bl\u00e9 ? \u00ab\u00a0Autrefois on utilisait la farine de h\u00eatre\u00a0\u00bb poursuit le p\u00e9pini\u00e9riste \u00e9colo. \u00ab\u00a0On a oubli\u00e9 certains v\u00e9g\u00e9taux au profit d’autres plus faciles \u00e0 cultiver ou plus rentables\u00a0\u00bb. Car certes le ch\u00eane pousse de 5m en 5 ans mais la culture du bl\u00e9 reste ind\u00e9niablement plus comp\u00e9titive. En termes de rendement au m2 comme en termes de financement (subventions PAC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si le ch\u00eane peut offrir une \u00ab\u00a0alternative\u00a0\u00bb en mati\u00e8re d’alimentation, il attire aussi l’attention par sa robustesse. Une r\u00e9ponse au changement climatique ? Une \u00e9tude de l’INAE (1) montre la r\u00e9silience des ch\u00eanes face \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse et donc leur potentiel de survie dans des zones de plus en plus arides. \u00c0 ce titre le ch\u00eane serait un super v\u00e9g\u00e9tal d’avenir. Moins que l’eucalyptus qui se nourrit du feu en \u00e9mettant une mol\u00e9cule inflammatoire qui br\u00fble tout ce qui l’entoure pour se pr\u00e9server mais n\u00e9anmoins un espoir pour les for\u00eats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celle de Chantilly par exemple. Le domaine s’\u00e9tend sur 6300 ha. Le ch\u00eane y est roi. Un souverain toutefois menac\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0Nous suivons de pr\u00e8s les recherches qui tentent de d\u00e9terminer pourquoi un ch\u00eane d\u00e9p\u00e9rit alors que les autres \u00e0 quelques m\u00e8tres r\u00e9sistent\u00a0\u00bb explique le prince Aga Khan.<\/p>\n\n\n

Un patrimoine de 10 000 esp\u00e8ces aux journ\u00e9es des plantes de Chantilly <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le prince qui a retir\u00e9 son m\u00e9c\u00e9nat en 2020 reste toutefois membre du jury qui a distingu\u00e9 l’arbre symbole. En pr\u00e9sence de la marraine de l’\u00e9dition, la pr\u00e9sentatrice Julie Andrieu, le prix de la presse et celui des collections ont en effet \u00e9t\u00e9 remis \u00e0 des exposants investis dans ce v\u00e9g\u00e9tal d’avenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lors de la journ\u00e9e des plantes les 180 exposants proposent 10 000 esp\u00e8ces et vari\u00e9t\u00e9s. Et l’on apprend la pr\u00e9ciosit\u00e9 de l’hortensia pour la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie du th\u00e9, le taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 de vitamine C dans le fruit de l’\u00e9glantier, le cynorrhodon, qui en contient 20 fois plus qu’une orange. Ou encore la r\u00e9sistance des arbustes de pivoines, des iris, sauges, passiflores, oliviers, magnolias,\u2026 Oui encore et toujours une histoire de comestibilit\u00e9 et de robustesse.<\/p>\n\n\n

Sur les 8 hectares d’exposition une profusion de menthes, d’agrumes, de succulentes, de l\u00e9gumes anciens, de plantes aromatiques ou carnivores. Mais aussi des conif\u00e8res, des \u00e9rables, des rosiers, des fruitiers. Les couleurs \u00e9clatent, du mauve de la v\u00e9ronique \u00e0 la palette des iris en passant par les secr\u00e8tes nuances des orchid\u00e9es. <\/p>\n\n\n

Au del\u00e0 du p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre d’exposition, place au 3 jardins qui s’\u00e9talent sur 115 hectares. Le jardin \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise de Le N\u00f4tre \u00e9videmment. Un jardin anglo-chinois datant du 18\u00e8me et un dernier, anglais celui-l\u00e0, imagin\u00e9 un si\u00e8cle plus tard. Le ticket d’entr\u00e9e permet aussi de d\u00e9couvrir le Ch\u00e2teau du Grand Cond\u00e9 avec vue sur les jardins et leurs miroirs d’eau mais \u00e9galement sur les collections d’art ancien, la chapelle en marbre noir et les galeries qui c\u00e9l\u00e8brent le go\u00fbt de la chasse et celui de Vatel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
