Sarah Suzanne et l’\u00e9crivain un livre esth\u00e8te et f\u00e9ministe .\u00c9ric Reinhardt plonge au c\u0153ur du couple et des violences psychologiques dans une descende aux enfers illumin\u00e9e par l’art. Le livre figurait dans la derni\u00e8re s\u00e9lection du prix Goncourt 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suzanne Stadler \u00e7a sonne un peu trop Duras non ? L’\u00e9crivain acquisse. Que pense-t-elle alors de Suzanne Sonneur ? Sarah est d’accord. \u00c9ric Reinhardt imagine un \u00e9crivain qui \u00e9crit l’histoire d’une femme, Sarah, en gardant sa libert\u00e9 mais en respectant les remarques de l’inspiratrice. Un dialogue parfois moqueur comme quand Sarah fait remarquer \u00e0 l’auteur qu’il projette un peu ses fantasmes sur elle et son double Suzanne. Un \u00e9change qui \u00e9claire aussi sur la construction d’un livre : personnages, lieux notamment. Et surtout qui conduit \u00e0 un flou o\u00f9 les identit\u00e9s se m\u00ealent. On se sait plus parfois qui est qui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Du cancer au sacr\u00e9 : la mangeuse de tableaux<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dans Sarah Suzanne et l’\u00e9crivain, \u00c9ric Reinhardt commence par faire vivre le cancer de Sarah-Suzanne. On pense alors \u00e0 une r\u00e9flexion sur la maladie port\u00e9e par un homme \u00e0 travers un r\u00e9cit d’une femme. Certes, mais l’auteur en profite pour introduire l’art comme force et sens<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l’art que Sarah-Suzanne supporte la maladie et se r\u00e9invente. En particulier \u00e0 travers la lumi\u00e8re de Nicolas de Sta\u00ebl. L’une architecte, l’autre g\u00e9n\u00e9alogiste, laissent tout en plan pour se consacrer \u00e0 l’essentiel. Et pour elles l’essentiel c’est la cr\u00e9ation. Art et \u00e9criture. L’\u00e9crivain livre alors de jolies pages sur Francis Ponge et les cr\u00e9ations des h\u00e9ro\u00efnes. Notamment une \u00ab\u00a0cabane cr\u00e2ne-coquillage\u00a0\u00bb inspir\u00e9e par le po\u00e8te et une \u00e9glise de dentelle<\/strong>. Des inspirations qui d\u00e9rivent de Ponge mais aussi d’une \u00ab\u00a0retraite\u00a0\u00bb que Sarah-Suzanne effectue au Louvre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le sacr\u00e9 est l\u00e0. Un sacr\u00e9 esth\u00e8te<\/strong>. Dans une rue de Dijon, Sarah-Suzanne tombe en arr\u00eat devant la boutique d’un antiquaire. L\u00e0, un tableau du XIXe si\u00e8cle repr\u00e9sentant un couvent et deux religieuses qui semblent guetter<\/strong>. Quoi, qui ? Les moniales comme l’architecture fascinent Suzanne. Pourquoi ? Elle se cesse de s’interroger. Une projection, une mise en garde ? Le tableau est un livre en soi<\/strong>. Il donne d’ailleurs son titre au roman dans le roman : La mangeuse de tableaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00e9minisme provinciale<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mais Sarah Suzanne et l’\u00e9crivain est avant tout une description lente, pr\u00e9cise et terrible de la descente aux enfers d’une femme \u00e9cras\u00e9e par les violences psychologiques de son mari. Sarah ne se sent plus \u00e0 l’aise dans son couple. Son marin, avocat fiscaliste dans le cas de Suzanne, boit, fume des joints et mate du porno chaque soir apr\u00e8s le d\u00eener. Elle prend par ailleurs conscience qu’il d\u00e9tient 75 % de leur appartement<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afin de d\u00e9clencher un \u00e9lectrochoc elle quitte le domicile conjugale pour un temps. Le r\u00e9sultat sera tr\u00e8s loin des effets salvateurs escompt\u00e9s. Son mari pratique le ghosting, sa fille la rejette et son fils vient dans la HLM o\u00f9 elle vit d\u00e9sormais en \u00ab\u00a0d\u00eenant une fesse sur une chaise\u00a0\u00bb. Tr\u00e8s attach\u00e9e \u00e0 sa maison et \u00e0 sa famille, Sarah-Suzanne passe ses soir\u00e9es devant les fen\u00eatres de la demeure cossue o\u00f9 elle regarde, comme un tableau, une vie de famille se d\u00e9rouler sans elle. Sarah-Suzanne se sent \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 la consigne\u00a0\u00bb. Rejet\u00e9e, inexistante, comme morte de son cancer<\/strong>. Cette exclusion destructrice la m\u00e8ne au d\u00e9lire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah-Suzanne a eu le courage de ne pas se satisfaire d’un couple qui se d\u00e9lite et de vouloir le sauver. Mais aussi de questionner les pratiques patriarcales d’un mari pingre et \u00e9go\u00efste. \u00c0 elle les d\u00e9penses du quotidien, \u00e0 lui le patrimoine. Le tout en province et dans une hi\u00e9rarchie de classes marqu\u00e9e. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happy end hollywoodo-dijonais<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9ric Reinhardt a beau jeu de s’attaquer \u00e0 la bourgeoisie de province. C’est facile. Un rien surfait m\u00eame si la situation de Sarah-Suzanne est parfaitement cr\u00e9dible. Comme la progression de sa descente aux enfers est remarquable et son p\u00e9tage de plombs digne d’un bad trip o\u00f9 peut-\u00eatre d’une performance artistique<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surtout l’\u00e9pilogue sous forme de happy end hollywoodo-dijonais a des allures d’\u00e9nigme. Car voil\u00e0 toutes les plan\u00e8tes-align\u00e9es, tous les voyants au vert. C’est du feel good surprise et ultra concentr\u00e9<\/strong>. Le souvenir imaginaire (ou pas) de l’\u00e9crivain a boost\u00e9 Sarah. L’a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9. Les fronti\u00e8res entre les identit\u00e9s se floutent de plus en plus. \u00c9ric Reinhardt s’invente d\u00e9miurge <\/strong>ce qu’est en effet un peu tout \u00e9crivain. Mais l\u00e0, le d\u00e9miurge b\u00e2cle s\u00e9rieusement son \u0153uvre ! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
