La commissaire suisso-camerounaise avait voulu une \u00e9dition intime attentive aux chuchotements de l&rsquo;art contemporain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La 61e Biennale d\u2019Art de Venise se jouera In Minor Keys (litt\u00e9ralement \u00ab En tons mineurs \u00bb). Ce titre et ce th\u00e8me ont \u00e9t\u00e9 imagin\u00e9s par la curatrice Koyo Kouoh (1967-2025), premi\u00e8re femme noire \u00e0 diriger l\u2019exposition internationale d\u2019art de la Biennale. Malheureusement, est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e subitement le 10 mai 2025, peu avant l\u2019annonce officielle. Nomm\u00e9e en novembre 2024, elle avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9fini le cadre th\u00e9orique complet de l\u2019exposition, s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 les 111 artistes participants (individus, duos, collectifs et organisations), con\u00e7u l\u2019architecture des espaces, l\u2019identit\u00e9 graphique et m\u00eame les contributeurs du catalogue. Avec le soutien total de sa famille, La Biennale di Venezia a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de r\u00e9aliser fid\u00e8lement son projet, confi\u00e9 \u00e0 une \u00e9quipe qu\u2019elle avait elle-m\u00eame choisie : Gabe Beckhurst Feijoo, Marie H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Pereira et Rasha Salti (conseillers), Siddhartha Mitter (r\u00e9dacteur en chef) et Rory Tsapayi (assistant de recherche).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Minor Keys<\/strong> : une th\u00e9matique de l&rsquo;intime<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In Minor Keys<\/strong> invite \u00e0 pr\u00eater l\u2019oreille aux fr\u00e9quences plus basses, aux tonalit\u00e9s discr\u00e8tes et intimes de l\u2019art contemporain. Loin du spectaculaire et du tapage, l\u2019exposition c\u00e9l\u00e8bre l\u2019improvisation, la persistance po\u00e9tique, la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et les pratiques qui se d\u00e9ploient dans l\u2019ombre ou en marge. Kouoh parlait d\u2019un \u00ab temps venu d\u2019\u00e9couter les tonalit\u00e9s mineures \u00bb, d\u2019une attention port\u00e9e aux voix subtiles, aux r\u00e9cits fragment\u00e9s, aux gestes modestes mais r\u00e9silients. Le parcours comprendra notamment des <strong>\u00ab Shrines \u00bb<\/strong> (sanctuaires) rendus hommage \u00e0 deux figures inspirantes : le S\u00e9n\u00e9galais <strong>Issa Samb<\/strong> (1945-2017) et l\u2019Am\u00e9ricaine <strong>Beverly Buchanan<\/strong> (1940-2015).
